In light of the most recent events, we want to send our personal condolences to the Josephson family. We hope that everyone is able to find strength throughout these difficult times. We have included a few ride-sharing safety tips outlined below:
Familiarize yourself with the ridesharing app and its safety features before requesting a ride.
Always check to ensure that the vehicle make, model, color, license plate, and driver matches the picture and employee outlined in the app.
Ask the driver to confirm your pick-up details i.e. your name, drop off location, any other details that can verify that you are at the correct vehicle.
Familiarize yourself with your surroundings and monitor your own GPS navigation, especially if you are in a different city.
Share your trip details with family and friends. Most ridesharing apps allow you to share details in regards to who your driver is (name, photo, and/or vehicle info), your final destination, and your estimated arrival time.
Be aware of open businesses around you and try to avoid calling rideshares alone late at night.
